Start from the town hall in Mauressargues (parking available in the large square in front of it).
The walk is marked with yellowPR® signs
(S/E) From the square in front of Mauressargues town hall, head due south along the road climbing above the village, initially ignoring the Chemin du Château d’Eau which branches off to the left, then turning left onto the Chemin des Bergeries at the signpost. You will reach a bend in the road.
(1) Leave the road (which leads to private property) and take the track on the right. Pass a junction with several paths and continue south-east. Follow the yellow markings until you reach the D124 county road.
(2) Follow it downhill on the right for 150 m.
(3) Pass a pathhead on the left marked by a hiking sign. Continue along the road to reach the Saint-Geniès dam.
(4) Then retrace your steps back to the hiking sign.
(3) Leave the road by taking the path on the right, which crosses the heath, heading roughly north, until you reach some vineyards. Continue north-east and follow the path which leads to a small stream.
(5) Follow the stream through the trees, then go round a sewage treatment plant on the left, keeping to the fence (be careful here as the path is not clearly marked and it is quite difficult to make your way through the tall grass). You will come out onto the D8.
(6) Follow the D8 on the left, before taking the first road on the left (Chemin du Serre du Pied) and following it until you reach the junction with the D123.
(7) Turn left onto this road, then head straight up to the left onto the Chemin de Pichouliers, which leads to a small hamlet. At the next junction, turn right. The road turns into a path that leads to the D124.
(8) Take this road to the right, heading downhill, to return to the town hall in Mauressargues (S/E).
