The starting point is at the small square right next to Iraklia harbour beach (by the only ATM).
(S/E) Take the road leading up into the village, leaving the road you’ll take on the return journey on your left (at the supermarket).
Follow this street to the end of the village; at this point (1), it quickly becomes a dirt track (pass a path on your right signposted for a cave, then immediately afterwards a track that joins the tarmac road).
Carry on straight ahead, enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding islands and Paralia Vorini cove;
(2) At this point, turn left onto the path flanked by low stone walls; in this section, you can still see signs of ongoing agricultural activity (there is a cattle gate).
(3) After a gentle, continuous descent, you’ll reach the tarmac road; you can then head back towards the starting point (on the left) or climb up towards the village of Panaghia (on the right); in this case, the road forms a circular route which you can cut across by following the old mule track straight ahead along the hillside.
Follow the road to Panaghia, take a circular route through the village and rejoin the road for the return journey, passing the point again (3)
Carry on to Livadi beach, which is truly superb.
Head back up towards the village, turning left 200 m after the start of the climb, and enjoy the magnificent views once again.
Head back down the street to reach the finish point (E)
