The starting point is next to Brières-les-Scellés Park (or Parc de la Faisanderie), where you can picnic. Parking spaces are available at the starting point (opposite the tennis courts). It may be full. In this case, you can continue on the departmental road and park on the first road on the right (after the car park and before the garage).
(S/E) Start heading east on the tarmac road that leads to the park entrance. The road becomes a dirt track. After 200 metres, keep left without going all the way to the road and you will come to a crossroads.
(1) Turn right, heading east, to begin crossing the Brières-les-Scellés valley for approximately 800 metres. At the end of the path, turn left, heading north, after 100 metres. At the crossroads, turn right towards a wood and cross it. At the exit, you will come to a cross path.
(2) Take it to the right until you reach the railway line, then turn left and follow it for just over 1 km.
(3) When you see the hut next to the tracks, take the path on the left that goes up into the woods (do not go to the hut). Continue along the path that turns to the right.
(4) Just before the bridge under the railway line, turn left, north, onto the path that runs alongside the horse stud farm. At the end of the path, turn left onto the tarmac road and continue for about 300 m until you reach a triangular junction.
(5) Stay on the road on the right for about 20 m until you reach a crossroad. Cross it and climb up, almost opposite, via theGR®11red and white markings, which are not always easy to find. This climb is quite steep with fairly high steps.
(You can bypass this section by continuing along the tarmac road on the right to the top where there is a car park and taking a path on the left to rejoin the route.)
(6) At the top of the climb, continue almost straight ahead until you come to a nice, wider, stabilised path. Take this path to the left, north-west. You will arrive at a meadow surrounded by woods. A nice place for a picnic.
The path crosses this meadow and then enters the Étrechy forest. Continue along the path for a little over 1 km.
(7) At the bottom of the descent, before crossing the small bridge, take a small path on the left, heading southwest into the forest. Follow the path through the woods for about 500 metres until you reach the edge of the forest.
(8) Then take the path on the left that climbs alongside the woods for just over 100 metres, then follow a small path on the right that enters the woods, which is not always easy to find. Continue along this path in the woods for about 400 metres, then take the path on the left, heading south-east. Continue for about 800 metres until you reach a four-way intersection.
(9) Turn right and, after a few metres, find a small path that branches off to the left, south, descending steeply into the woods (not always easy to find). Follow it downhill for about 200 metres.
(10) At the edge of the woods (nice view of the valley; a pleasant place to take a break), take the path on the right that runs alongside a wood on the right. Continue for about 1 km until you reach a fork.
(11) Take the path on the left, heading south, which descends towards the valley. At the first crossroads, continue straight ahead towards the woods. Atthe second crossroads, turn right, west, onto the path that runs alongside the woods. After about 400 m, at the fork, take the leftmost path, the tarmac road that enters the woods for about 100 m (near a company car park).
(12) Then turn right, heading south, onto the first small path closed to vehicles by two large concrete blocks. Please note that this path is not marked on the IGN map. This path winds through the woods for about 200 metres. At the exit, take the tarmac road on the left, heading east, to reach the Parc de Brières-les-Scellés (S/E).
