Park in the car park of the town hall in Montmirey-le-Château.
(S/E) Walk past the town hall and then, at the crossroads with the statue of the Virgin Mary, turn left and continue along this small road. Walk past the waste collection centre and the silo. You will reach the gates of one of the entrances to the castle of Montmirey-la-Ville.
(1) Walk past the closed gates and continue along this small road, then take the first left. Take the small path, then cross Rue du Château, continuing along the path that leads to the road. Take this road on the left until you reach the open gates of the castle.
(2) Walk through the castle grounds and back.
Please note: the owners allow visitors to enter the grounds, provided they stay on the path marked "Parc". Please respect this rule.
Retrace your steps back to the gates.
(2) Once back, turn left onto the main road, then turn right onto the farm track signposted "Croqueurs de Pommes". After entering the woods, turn right and follow the main path, which becomes narrower and leads to the oratory.
(3) Behind the oratory, take the path downhill. At the bottom of the descent, turn left and then immediately right onto a small path. Then take a slightly wider path on the right. Follow it to the farm track and turn right. You will reach the chapel.
(4) Continue straight ahead to the cross at the entrance to the village of Frasne-les-Meulières.
(5) Turn left, then pass between the houses to reach Grande Rue. Turn right, then quickly take a path on the left. At the end, turn right onto the farm track to reach another cross.
(6) Turn right towards the village. You will reach the roundabout by the church.
(7) Stay on the street opposite to reach the wash house.
(8) Return to the roundabout.
(7) After the statue of the Virgin Mary, turn left. Then turn left onto Rue du Quart, then left again at the end onto Rue du Rougelot. You will reach the first cross.
(5) Turn left towards the "Sentier du Tacot" sign. Follow this path, cross the Tacot bridge, then turn left onto the farm track. Cross the small road and continue to the calvary.
(9) Turn right, then take the second left onto Rue du Lavoir.
Pass in front of the wash house and then the chapel and follow Chemin du Repos on the left until you reach the woods. Continue along this path until you reach the TGV line.
(10) Follow it, keeping to the right. You will reach a bridge over the railway line, which allows wild animals to cross. Turn right onto the path that goes downhill. Stay on this farm track, continuing straight ahead until you reach a small road. Turn right onto this road to reach the entrance to the village of Montmirey-le-Château.
(11) Take Rue Basse at the sign prohibiting vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, then turn left into Ruelle and right at the end.
Pass in front of the fountain, then turn left towards the statue of the Virgin Mary. Go up to the left towards the church. Take the small path to the right of the church to reach the ruins of the old castle.
(12) Return by the same route to the town hall car park (S/E).
