Park in the town hall car park.
(S/E) On Rue du Tourtout, head south-east towards the countryside, following the yellow markings.
The path descends rapidly towards the Ruisseau du Tourtout stream. Once you have crossed the bridge, climb the steep slope to thefirst crossroads.
(1) Turn right (due south) onto the path coming from Le Poirier. Leave the yellow markings here. Follow this path to the next junction at the edge of the forest. Enjoy the beautiful view of Fresney-le-Puceux Castle on your right.
(2) Turn left onto the path that leads diagonally into the forest (south-east). Stay on the path marked "Forêt Privée" (Private Forest).
Follow this path straight ahead, ignoring all the paths branching off to the right and left. You will reach a crossroads with yellow signposts.
(3) When you reach the crossroads, turn left towards the hamlet of Jacob Mesnil, enjoying the beautiful views of the farm in the valley. Cross the hamlet, passing in front of the wash house and then over the Laize bridge.
(4) After the bridge, walk alongside the buildings on the left until you reach a path on the right. Climb up to the right and follow this path. At the next crossroads, turn left just at the end of a hedge. You will soon come to another crossroads with a path running perpendicular to it.
(5) Take it on the left and descend towards the Grand Moulin. When you reach the road, take it on the right to the hamlet of La Planche à la Housse, passing in front of the mill.
(6) Take the first road on the left (there is a picnic table here). Cross the bridge and at the T-junction, turn right and continue straight ahead until the next crossroads. Then turn right onto Impasse du Gué Brion. You will find the yellow markings here. Cross the footbridge then turn right to return to La Planche à la Housse and complete this loop.
(6) Continue for about 50 metres, then take the path on the left and continue almost straight ahead until you reach another junction with a perpendicular path.
(7) Turn left and you will soon reach a wider path. Take it to the left and leave it shortly afterwards to turn right onto a trail. When you reach the hamlet of Le Pissot, cross it and you will come to the junction with the D32 road.
(8) Turn right heading north-west, pass in front of the Tournebu mill and arrive at the hamlet of Touchet.
(9) Turn left onto the bridge and pass in front of the mill. Follow the road as it curves upwards to the crossroads with the bus stop. Turn right onto the small road called La Sente aux Ladres. Walk along Laize for several dozen metres to reach the hamlet of Pont de Fresney. Follow this road to the left for a few metres.
(10) Turn left again onto the small path that climbs a fairly steep slope between the trees. Reach Fresney via Chemin du Champ Mirey. Turn left to pass in front of the school, then right into Rue des Écoles.
At the next crossroads, turn left, walk past the cemetery and church and go up to the right to the castle. Follow the same route, and at the corner of the cemetery, keep right then turn right again into Rue du Tourtout to return to the town hall car park (S/E).
