We start the circular walk at the car park by the Salzhaff between Boiensdorf and Werder.
(S/E) At the water’s edge, we turn left and walk along the Salzhaff. The path leads away from the water towards the small village of Werder.
(1) In Werder, we turn right and walk towards Boiensdorfer Werder, with views of the Salzhaff and the Wustrow peninsula.
(2) We have reached the start of the circular walk across the Boiensdorfer Werder. Where the road curves to the left, we follow the footpath straight on along the coast. The route initially takes us across a meadow, past a pond and through a gate. On the north side, we walk along a beautiful cliff-top path. The island of Kieler Ort comes into view. On the east side, we have a view of Poel and the bird sanctuary island of Langenwerder. The footpath ends at the south-western end, where a closed nature reserve begins.
(3) We turn left and walk across the campsite. We take the fifth left, keep diagonally to the right at the washrooms and then take the next right. The path leads us from the campsite to the access road, which we follow eastwards. We then return to the car park via the familiar route (S/E).
