Departure from Ellmau (Bezirk Kufstein)
This circular route through the heart of the limestone Kaisergebirge massif immerses you in an exceptional atmosphere. Starting from the Wochenbrunner Alm, the route links two mountain huts and two iconic passes: the Gruttenhütte, the Stripsenjochhaus, as well as the Ellmauer Tor and the Kopftörl. A very demanding hike, often vertiginous, reserved for experienced hikers, rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. Via ferrata-style equipment is recommended (harness, lanyards and helmet), as several sections are exposed and rockfalls may occur.

Do not attempt this climb unless the weather has been good for several days beforehand. The end is a Via Ferrata and the whole route is very exposed, not always with ropes, but the route can be completed without equipment.
It is quite busy, however, with most people climbing with a lanyard and helmet.

Winter hike from Schatzberg down to beautiful Thierbach and back. The first section runs along the slopes of the ski area, but we soon reach the winter hiking trail, which is also open to sledges. The hike is of course also possible in summer.
