The Borne des Quatre Paroisses circular route from Cerdon-du-Loiret
A very pretty circular route on the border between Cher and Loiret. Its long paths will take you to the Borne des Quatre Paroisses, the meeting point of the communes of Cerdon-du-Loiret, Brinon-sur-Sauldre, Villemurlin and Isdes. The walk through the forest on the border between Loiret and Cher is worth the detour alone.
Along the Beuvron in Saint-James
This easy and very pleasant route along the banks of the Beuvron was suggested by the Saint-James Children's Municipal Council.
It also passes close to the American military cemetery, allowing for a short extension to the walk.
In the Forest of Boulogne
The walk leads into the heart of the Boulogne Forest. Separated from the Chambord estate in 1523 by order of François I, its main purpose is the production of high-quality oak. It is the perfect habitat for does, stags and wild boars, which can be spotted from the long, straight avenues. Best enjoyed in summer to make the most of the forest’s coolness.
Bois de Boulogne and heritage
Setting off from Bracieux, a pretty village torn between its typical Solognot heritage and its royal history directly linked to the Château de Chambord, nature offers some lovely surprises in the Forêt de Boulogne, where the flora and fauna are particularly rich.
The Bernadettes Route
Monthou-sur-Bièvre, a village nestled amongst the vineyards of the Touraine appellation, boasts an abundance of gently rolling wooded areas that are a delight for nature lovers.
Villesavin Route
This route, starting from Tour-en-Sologne, is steeped in history, crossing the Ponts d’Arian, whose construction dates back to the Middle Ages but whose origins are Roman. You will also appreciate the dense vegetation of the Boulogne State Forest on the edge of the Chambord National Estate.
The banks of the Loire from Candé-sur-Beuvron
Between theGR® de Pays de châteaux en châteaux trail and the banks of the Loire, this walk offers beautiful views of the river, as well as of the Cosson, and concludes at the 16th-century Château de la Borde in Candé.
