Park in the car park on the side of the D98 road, on the right along the cycle path, coming from Hyères or La Londe. Near the entrance to the Route du Barrage.
(S/E) Take the Route du Barrage. At the fork, keep left. Continue along the road that runs alongside a wire fence. 300 m after passing the Trapan Dam on your left, you will come to a crossroads just after the entrance to a property on a left-hand bend.
(1) In the bend, take the track on the right until you reach a hairpin bend on the left.
(2) At the hairpin bend, take the track that goes straight ahead and continue for a few dozen metres until you reach the start of the path on the left.
(3) Turn left, towards the east, onto a small track, which is in very good condition and easy to spot, although its start is not very visible. Once on the track, continue straight ahead until you reach a crossroads.
(4) At the crossroads, cross the track and continue straight ahead, slightly uphill, until you reach a clear platform with a cistern.
(5) About 100 m further on, the path joins a track going downhill (the Chemin de Brégançon). Continue straight ahead, ignoring all the paths and tracks on the right and left, heading south-east.
This ridge offers magnificent 360° views of the Îles d'Or, the Giens peninsula, La Londe, the Vieux Salins d'Hyères, Bormes, Le Lavandou, the Toulon mountains and the Massif des Maures.
After about 400 m, you will come to a junction with a track turning 90° to the left.
(6) Leave this track on your left (this is the way back). Continue straight ahead in a south/south-east direction until you reach the antenna on a hilltop (on this section, there is an interesting rock on the right-hand side, high up, which is a good place for a picnic (there is another picnic spot on the hillside once you reach the antenna). You will come to a T-junction.
(7) There are two options:
- Turn back to point 6.
- Take the track on the right to the cistern and back to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Brégançon fort. Retrace your steps (option chosen on the map).
(6) Turn 90° right uphill. At the top, the path gradually turns left and heads north. Continue, leaving the paths on your right and left until you reach a fork. Leave the path on the right and keep left towards an antenna.
(8) Go around the antenna on the right and descend on the right along Chemin du Trapan. The descent is steep but the terrain is good.
(9) At the bottom of the descent, take the Chemin de l'Angueiroun on the left and continue straight ahead until you reach the cycle path.
(10) Take the cycle path on the left that runs alongside the D98 until you reach the car park (S/E).
