Walk on Grassendorf Hill through fields and vineyards. This is an easy walk with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The route should be avoided in very wet weather due to the clay soil.

Description of the walk

The route starts in front of Grassendorf Town Hall, where you can park.

(S/E) Opposite the town hall, start by crossing part of the village, turning left onto Rue Principale. Turn right onto Rue des Vergers. As you leave the village, continue along the path up the hill.

(1) At the top of the hill, you can see the silhouette of the cathedral. Leave the tarmac path and turn right onto the dirt track, continuing straight ahead.

(2) Keep going straight on along the crest of the hill and enjoy the views of the surrounding area (Hochfelden on the left, Bouxwiller in the distance).

(3) Pass the mobile phone mast and turn right. Then carry straight on.

(4) Walk past the barn on your right.

(5) At the end of the path, turn right then left; you may see donkeys in the field on your right. Continue straight on until you reach Grassendorf Town Hall (S/E)

From the heights of Morschwiller, you can look out over the Alsace plain, with views stretching from the Northern Vosges to the Black Forest.
