Baegundae Peak circular walk from Bukhansan UI

A very pleasant walk, best done in good weather to enjoy the views and avoid any difficulties on slippery rocks.

Description of the walk

The walk starts at Bukhansan UI metro station (Exit 2, on the left when approaching from the south).

(S/E) Walk up the road to the national park entrance (UI Ranger Station). Follow the path to the junction marking the two routes to the summit.

(1) Take the path on the right (you’ll return via the one on the left). The path to the summit is then well signposted. You’ll pass a small, very photogenic temple and a mountain rescue post.

(2) Turn right. The final climb is more challenging but well-equipped.

(3) Head back down the same path to the gate.

(2) Turn right towards Yongammun, then, once you reach the gate of the same name, follow the sign for ‘Park Ranger Post’ to the left. Pass by Doseonsa Temple, which is well worth a visit.

(1) Follow the outward route in the opposite direction back to the underground station (S/E).
