Around Pulnoy

Moderator update on 25/05/2020: Please note! This walk is currently being updated.

A pleasant and easy route exploring a “rurban” commune on the right bank of Nancy and its main attractions, around the golf course, its recreational forest and its lake, whilst avoiding roads as much as possible.

Description of the walk

(S/E) Park your car at Place de la République in Pulnoy, opposite the church.
Cross Gau-Oderheim Square behind the War Memorial.
A narrow path leads to the Clos housing estate. Take this path and, at the end of Rue du Clo, turn right onto Rue des Maix for 100 metres.

(1) A path closed to vehicles by a barrier on the left will take you to the Promenade Jean-Monnet. Follow it first through the Opération des Sables, skirt the retirement home’s grounds, then cross Rue de Saulxures and head up towards the forest visible opposite.

(2) At the edge of the forest, turn left, then immediately right onto a winding path that leads to the highest point in the village.

(3) Before reaching a small wooden bridge, take the path on the left which will allow you to walk along the edge (see photo) of the Nancy-Pulnoy golf course. The path then descends to the Route de Cerville.

(4) Turn left for a few metres (safe) then cross the road and take the country lane opposite. This runs alongside the village’s sports facilities and leads you to the Route de Seichamps.

(5) Cross it and continue along the path that runs alongside the Grémillon stream, leading you to the Masserine lake. Then head towards Seichamps for 30 metres and turn left in front of the bakery.
A narrow path branches off at the far right of the track and runs alongside the Porte Verte retention basin.
At the end, turn left towards the Troc de l'Ile, cross the roundabout and, at the three-way junction, turn left.
Once you reach Avenue du Général de Gaulle, cross it and take the path that leads into the green space of the housing estate. At the exit, continue straight on along Rue du Grand Pré and, at the next bend, take the path on the left, between two houses, which will lead you back to the starting point.

It is impossible to continue the walk beyond No. 6: the path is blocked by new buildings, forcing you to retrace your steps through uninteresting housing estate streets to get back to the starting point.

Hello
A short walk, but no views or anything interesting to see.
The downside is at the end of the route, where the path is now blocked at the hairdresser’s, so you have to take a detour past the house.

Between the start and the retirement home: lost – no street signs. Note point 4: you must take the path on the far left. Point 6: couldn’t find a bakery.
In the forest, the paths are very wet. A route best tackled in dry weather.
In summary: description needs updating/clarification.

It was difficult to find the starting point of the walk; the directions for leaving the town were confusing. There were few interesting views, and the walk through the forest was difficult because the rain had made the path very muddy.

Before the little bridge, the path was hard to find as it was littered with fallen leaves. It was still very nice, though.

We went for a walk in the evening, taking two torches with us for the part through the woods. It was a lovely walk.

Hello,
Sorry, you’re right, it’s a small mistake that I’ll try to correct – the path round the bend at Grand-Pré goes to the left… and joins the original path at the end of Le Clos.

In the Clos housing estate, which is a bit out of the way from the Promenade Monnet, I ended up not finding the path that was supposed to lead back to the starting point
