Depart from the car park at Gonneville-en-Auge church.
(S/E) Head south-east, keeping the cemetery on your left. Before the fork in the road, take the first path on the left. At the crossroads (point 4), turn left.
(1) At the crossroads, turn right towards Pré Monfiquet. Ignore the first path on the left and take the second one, heading north.
(2) Turn left. At the T-junction, turn left again.
(3) Turn left. At the houses, turn right.
(4) Turn right at a right angle. At the immediate junction, continue straight ahead. Cross a road (D223) and reach the stele.
(5) Continue to the right (north-west) then immediately left (west) onto Chemin du Buisson. Ignore Chemin des Banques on the left and Chemin des Coteaux on the right.
(6) At the end, after a right-hand bend, turn left onto Avenue de la Hogue du Moulin.
(7) Turn right onto Route de Cabourg. After about 300 metres, turn left (carefully) onto Boulevard Kennedy. Follow this road (north-west) to the end.
(8) Turn left onto the path. Leave the redoubt on your left and arrive at Chemin de la Baie.
(9) Cross the road and go behind the guard rails to make a first turn left then right turn and follow the path. Leave the pond on your left and head south-southwest along the Orne. Return to the south bank of the pond.
(10) Turn right onto the path parallel to the Cabourg road. Follow this path, keeping to the right along the Baie de l'Orne.
(11) Keep right (west) onto Boulevard Maritime, then follow the path along the bay.
(12) Turn left and walk along the Orne on the footpath for about 1.5 km.
(13) Take the first path on the left, then left again. Then turn right, ignore a path on the left and turn left into the next one. After about 300 metres, turn right again.
(14) Cross the Cabourg D514 road (take care) towards the orientation table with a view of the bay and Ouistreham
(15) Continue east and quickly turn left onto Rue Oger. At the T-junction, turn left onto Route de Sallenelles (D37b). After about 200 metres, turn right onto Chemin du Saint-Sacrement.
(16) At the end, follow Chemin du Moulin d'Eau to the left. Ignore a street on the right (towards Ferme du Buisson).
(17) At the next junction, turn right and follow theGR®223(red and white markings). After 500 metres, turn right again, still following the GR®. After a few bends, leave the path to Le Bois on your right and continue north.
(18) Leave theGR® trail straight ahead and turn right. After 200 metres, turn right towards Batterie de Merville. About 300 metres after the battery, first turn right then left and continue along Rue du Douet Philibert.
(1) At the crossroads, turn right onto Rue des Banques. Continue along Rue de la Croix Bazin and head for the car park at Gonneville Church (S/E).
