Around Phalempin and its forest

Start: Start from Phalempin church car park.

(S/E) Leave the church behind you and take Rue Pasteur (North-West), then turn right into Rue Jean Mermoz, then right again into Rue Victor Hugo. At the next crossroads, turn left into Rue Albert Herman, then immediately right into the path between the soccer stadium and the riding school. Follow the path to the right, which passes behind the riding school. The path joins the D62.

(1) Cross the road and take Rue Du Plouick almost opposite, cross the railroad line and follow this road to a sharp right-hand bend; take the paved track on the left just after the last houses. Follow the path until you cross the bridge over the A1 freeway.

(2) Turn right immediately afterwards. The paved road turns left twice and joins the D8 at the edge of Attiches. Stay on the same road (Rue de la Grande Poterie then Rue de la Faisanderie) (GR^®121B), which turns right. After the last house, turn left at right-angles (GR^®121B). Follow the path as it approaches the forest (leaving the GR^®° to enter the forest without following it), continuing as far as the D8.

(3) Take this road to the right, then leave it 300m further on, crossing it to the left (south-east) and taking the Drève d'Attiche which leads straight on to Drumez. At the end of the forest, continue straight on the D54 and GR^®121B to Drumez.

(4) In Drumez, follow the main road (D54) as it bends to the right, and as you leave the village, continue straight ahead (GR^® and Route des Cailles) on the path that enters the forest. Follow the GR^®121B to Phalempin. At the end of the forest, go along the edge of the road on the right, turn left once, then right again, and follow the road which bends to the left until it reaches the D8 in the village of "La Neuville".

(5) Turn right on the D8, then left on Rue de Wahagnies. Turn right onto the small footpath that runs along the back of the house gardens. Follow it until you reach the forest, then turn right at the roundabout.

(6) Turn left onto the Sentier Forestier de l'Ermitage. Pass the Maison Forestière de l'Ermitage (small château), then turn left (south-south-west) to join the Drève des Morts.

(7) Turn right (North-West) and follow the path (you'll see two ponds below on the right). Bend right then left, follow the edge of the road and enter the woods until you reach the D62A.

(8) Turn left, cross the bridge over the freeway. Follow the road straight ahead until you reach the church and car park(S/E).
