Description of the walk

Start: Keswick Car Park, by the swimming pool. Grid ref. NY 270 237

(S/E) From the car park take left (East) to take the old railway line that is now a bicycle track. Continue on this path for around 4 Km.

(1) Before the bridge, take left at the gate. Then at the other gate by the road and small car park, take right on the road (North). Walk up on this road until reaching an intersection.

(2) Turn right then left direction Skiddaw then left direction Keswick. Continue on this path that has an open view on the surrounding valley and then on Keswick.

(3) At the bend turn right to enter the forest. There are several paths inside the forest, so follow any paths that cross the forest (West) to reach Whinny Brow and the Cumbria Way.

(4) Take left on the Cumbria Way to walk down to Keswick. At the end of Spoonygreen Lane (gravel road), turn left on the tarmac road Briar Rigg (South-West). Take the footpath on the left of Briar Rigg still using the Cumbria Way footpath. Cross Brundholme Road to take the Cumbria Way footpath and reach the roundabout. Cross the roundabout still following the Cumbria Way to find the car park (S/E)
