Bath Skyline Walk
A very pleasant walk in fine weather around Bath, offering a magnificent panoramic view of the city on the way back. Well signposted – just follow the yellow ‘Bath Skyline Walk’ arrows. It’s a mix of paths, woodland and open countryside with very few roads.
Tunnels and Kennet and Avon Canal
A walk with fine views over Bath. Then a taste of 19th Century transport following the Somerset and Dorset disused railway through two tunnels, with information about the railway's history. Later picking up the Kennet and Avon Canal for the return journey to Bath.
The Cam Brook Valley from Southstoke
A Somerset walk in the northern part of the county. The undulating route explores the hills and valleys to the south of Southstoke using field paths, the course of an old railway and tracks.
Newbridge Circular, via Beckfords Tower and Bath Race Course
This walk has fantastic views but has an uphill start which may require a few rest stops. If on a summer weekend, you may be able to go up Beckford’s Tower. It soon joins the Cotswold Way and visits the famous Prospect Style with a useful topograph. The start and end is at a riverside pub called the Boathouse, and a bus Park & Ride.
