This hike, which starts in Spain, will take you to the summit of one of the three “2,900-metre peaks” in the Pyrénées-Orientales: Campcardos or Puig Pedros (2,915 m). It offers contrasting landscapes, ranging from high-altitude plateaus reminiscent of steppes to jagged ridges, ponds and balcony-like paths through beautiful forests of mountain pine. The border runs across the summit of Campcardos, making it the highest point in the province of Girona, ahead of Puigmal d’Err (2,910 m).
