This is a day-long walk through the Bois d’Autun, allowing you to explore the hills above Autun and the woods overlooking the town. These woods are part of a forestry consortium dedicated to the conservation of the Morvan’s deciduous trees. I have described a walk, but it is still a fairly long day’s route which you can shorten, as the entire estate is criss-crossed by numerous paths. What I suggest is that you follow part of the signposted route, then occasionally stray from it to explore a few paths that are not marked on the maps.
