Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 7 m
  2. 1 : km 0.12 - alt. 8 m - From the carpark, walk back down the road towards the causeway and take a signed footpath heading just west of north. Continue along this path until reaching the north beach.
  3. 2 : km 1.33 - alt. 5 m - When reaching the beach, head east. The top of a building will become visible in the dunes. Head off towards this along the beach.
  4. 3 : km 2.77 - alt. 5 m - When nearing the buildings, find a track (there are many) through the dunes towards the buildings. There is an obvious track that leads from the nearby carpark to the buildings at Snook.
  5. 4 : km 3.31 - alt. 6 m - Retrace your steps back eastwards over the dunes, and then along the beach.
  6. 5 : km 5.36 - alt. 2 m - Where the beach becomes rocky, head off into the dunes and then along the cliff tops to the navigational pyramid at Emmanuel Head.
  7. 6 : km 7.73 - alt. 9 m - From the navigational pyramid, follow an obvious path southwards along the coast.
  8. 7 : km 9.37 - alt. 5 m - The track bends around to the Lime Kilns and then to Lindisfarne Castle.
  9. 8 : km 9.96 - alt. 4 m - A short out-and-back can be made to the Gertrude Jeckyll Gardens.
  10. 9 : km 10.4 - alt. 4 m - Follow an obvious path around the bay to the pier.
  11. 10 : km 11.29 - alt. 4 m - Climb up from the pier to Osborne's Fort. Follow a track eastwards to the Lookout Tower.
  12. 11 : km 11.68 - alt. 14 m - From the Lookout Tower follow a rough track downwards, almost to the beach. A footpath then leads inland towards the church and abbey.
  13. 12 : km 11.91 - alt. 11 m - Follow the street northwards and then take a signed footpath westwards, back towards the coast.
  14. 13 : km 12.18 - alt. 13 m - Follow the obvious track back to the coast and follow the coastline back to the road (from the causeway). Head back up the road to the carpark.
  15. S/E : km 13.22 - alt. 7 m
