  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 44 m
  2. 1 : km 0 - alt. 44 m - Leave the station via the Portsmouth bound, platform 2 and walk forward along the station access road.
  3. 2 : km 0.05 - alt. 43 m - At the end of the station access road, turn left onto Summers Road. (If you want some refreshment before starting your walk, Farncombe cafes and shops are close by on your right.)
  4. 3 : km 0.27 - alt. 41 m - Turn right into Nursery Road
  5. 4 : km 0.48 - alt. 41 m - Turn left into the park access road, signed 'Broadwater Park'.
  6. 5 : km 0.57 - alt. 40 m - Cross the car park and keep forward to follow the surfaced path into the park.
  7. 6 : km 0.81 - alt. 38 m - Just after the children's play area and public toilets, bear right, down the slope towards the lake.
  8. 7 : km 0.85 - alt. 37 m - At the lake, bear left to follow the path skirting the lake.
  9. 8 : km 0.98 - alt. 37 m - You will find a number of seats overlooking the lake if you wish to take a rest. - Seats
  10. 9 : km 1.27 - alt. 36 m - At the car park, keep right to cross the footbridge over the lake outfall.
  11. 10 : km 1.34 - alt. 35 m - Turn left to cross the road at the reservation. Take care, the road can be busy, especially during peak periods. Turn left along the roadside path for a few yards to the gate just past the National Trust sign.
  12. 11 : km 1.38 - alt. 35 m - Pass to the left of the gate and on to the footpath.
  13. 12 : km 1.59 - alt. 36 m - Keep bearing left through the woodland.
  14. 13 : km 1.77 - alt. 34 m - Turn left to follow the towpath alongside the River Wey Navigation.
  15. 14 : km 2.04 - alt. 34 m - Go through the gate and up the short slope but take care at the top; you come onto a road quite suddenly. Although the road is relatively quiet, some vehicles travel too fast. Cross the road and continue along the towpath.
  16. 15 : km 2.45 - alt. 34 m - At Unstead Lock, continue forward along the towpath and, in a short distance, cross over a side tributary via the wooden footbridge.
  17. 16 : km 3.06 - alt. 33 m - Continue forward, under the bridge that crosses the river and through the gate into the field. Continue along the towpath.
  18. 17 : km 3.56 - alt. 33 m - Go through the gate and up the short slope to cross the road. This is a busier road than the previous one so take care. Thoughtful drivers sometimes stop to allow pedestrians to cross but watch that traffic is not coming in the opposite direction.
  19. 18 : km 4.14 - alt. 32 m - Continue forward along the towpath and under the bridges that carry a pipe and then the railway over the river.
  20. 19 : km 4.6 - alt. 32 m - At St Catherine's Lock, turn left, away from the navigation, and follow the track to pass under the railway arch.
  21. 20 : km 4.91 - alt. 38 m - At the main Guildford to Godalming road, cross the road and turn left to follow the footway. This is a busy road; take care.
  22. 21 : km 4.99 - alt. 37 m - Turn right into The Ridges.
  23. 22 : km 5.01 - alt. 38 m - Seat
  24. 23 : km 5.17 - alt. 44 m - By the entrance to the Surrey Police Headquarters, follow the track just to the left of the entrance to the Driver Training Centre.

  26. 25 : km 5.92 - alt. 56 m - At the tarmac driveway, continue forward.
  27. 26 : km 6.06 - alt. 60 m - At the road, cross over and continue forward along the track and then onto the footpath.
  28. 27 : km 6.59 - alt. 58 m - Continue forward beside the small lake.
  29. 28 : km 6.66 - alt. 58 m - The lake is a peaceful place to pause and take a rest. A number of seats have thoughtfully been provided. - Seats
  30. 29 : km 6.74 - alt. 58 m - At the far end of the lake, pass through the kissing gate and continue along the footpath.
  31. 30 : km 6.88 - alt. 60 m - You are close to Loseley House. Please note that the grounds are only accessible during specific public admission times and that charges may apply.   32. 31 : km 6.93 - alt. 61 m - Cross the track and continue along the footpath. After a short while, the path turns sharply to the left.
  33. 32 : km 7.16 - alt. 66 m - Turn sharp right and follow the tree-lined track. (The gate here is usually shut. Car access to Loseley is from the east via Littleton Lane.)
  34. 33 : km 7.84 - alt. 65 m - Just past the metal gate, turn left along Polsted Lane
  35. 34 : km 8.46 - alt. 52 m - Just after the small stream, turn left into Withies Lane.
  36. 35 : km 8.68 - alt. 50 m - Refreshments: The Withies Inn. A 'olde worlde' pub in a quiet countryside location.
  37. 36 : km 8.89 - alt. 51 m - Turning right along New Pond Road and then immediately cross the road and go into The Avenue. Please note that New Pond Road is a busy 'B' road; take care.
  38. 37 : km 9.34 - alt. 49 m - Look out for the stile on your right and cross it into the field. The path is poorly defined but cuts diagonally across the field, over the wire fence via another stile, and on to the far corner of the field just to the right of the converted barn. (It can be wet here. If you prefer, you can continue along the road to turn right and right again and pick up the route at point 31 in the directions.)
  39. 38 : km 9.55 - alt. 53 m - Cross the stile to the right of the gate and turn left to follow the track.
  40. 39 : km 9.71 - alt. 53 m - When garages appear ahead, bear right through the gap beside the gate then turn left to follow the path behind the houses.
  41. 40 : km 9.89 - alt. 53 m - At the end of the houses, continue forward up the low hill in front of you.
  42. 41 : km 10.04 - alt. 56 m - On the far side of the hill, continue forward to follow the meandering path, broadly parallel to the road.
  43. 42 : km 10.17 - alt. 55 m - Take care near the road; the path drops down a bank (adjacent to some broken steps.) Don't go to the road but bear right to continue through the woodland.
  44. 43 : km 10.21 - alt. 58 m - By the seat, bear left to skirt the field. - Seat
  45. 44 : km 10.36 - alt. 58 m - When you see the house with a conspicuous conservatory on the hillside in front of you, bear left to join the road.
  46. 45 : km 10.4 - alt. 58 m - Turn right to follow Binscombe Lane.
  47. 46 : km 10.51 - alt. 59 m - Bear left into More Road.
  48. 47 : km 10.63 - alt. 55 m - Bear right into Tudor Road.
  49. 48 : km 10.72 - alt. 51 m - Turn left into Tudor Circle.
  50. 49 : km 10.78 - alt. 48 m - At then end of Tudor Circle, follow the narrow alley that's slightly to the right. You need to get close to see it!
  51. 50 : km 10.86 - alt. 47 m - Cross Perrior Road and follow Elizabeth Road in front of you.
  52. 51 : km 10.99 - alt. 46 m - Left and immediately right, across George Road, to return to Farncombe station.
  53. S/E : km 11.13 - alt. 44 m
