Walking Bamford & Stanage Edges from Rod Side

This Peak District walk explores two of the gritstone edges in the eastern sector of the National Park. The walk generally follows well defined paths and tracks and offers some fine views from elevated positions along the way. After heavy rain do expect some boggy ground under foot along some sections of the route.

Walking Wentworth Woodhouse and its follies

However the area has many attractive rural locations including one of the country's finest houses, Wentworth Woodhouse, which is passed on this walk. The house featured in the TV series "The Country House Revealed" which visited stately homes not open to the public.

This valley is particularly impressive and feels quite remote - considering how close it is to the thousands of people that are circuiting around Ladybower.
