Park in the town hall car park or on the grass by the roadside.
(S/E) With your back to the town hall, follow the small road to the right which passes in front of the castle. Right next to it, the church is well worth a look, as is the village hall, which has been converted from a traditional old barn
(1) At the end of Rue du Pressoir, head down to the left along the small road that runs alongside the castle walls. Well before the gate to the water pumping station, take the forest track on the right, following the yellow markings.
(2) 100 m further on, at the bottom just before you leave the woods, veer right onto the GR®-marked path and follow the valley upstream, keeping straight on the whole way.
(3) Cross the D64a and continue following the valley upstream; the path widens and offers walkers a view of some beautiful trees. 600 m before reaching the RD, pop in to see the Maquis Cave, 100 m to the right of the path (it’s the last path on the right and is a dead end leading to the cave).
(4) Just past the Maquis monument on the edge of the RD, turn right onto the first path (marked blue) which climbs into the woods. At the top, carry straight on.
(5) At the Fromagère crossroads, turn left. When you reach the high-voltage power lines, take the path on the right which crosses the plain towards the water tower (leave the blue markings).
(6) On the plain, head left, keeping the water tower in sight. At the water tower, continue along the small road known as the Chemin des Hautes Terres.
(7) At the crossroads, turn left and then immediately right in front of the pretty candlestick-shaped hornbeam to take the “Sente à Paul” and cross the plain straight ahead.
(8) At the cross marking the end of the path, take the small road on the right. The Rue de la Juridiction in Mauny reveals some lovely properties with superb examples of architectural heritage and leads straight back to the starting point at the town hall car park (S/E).
