Olmi circular route to Bocca Croce

This walk is suitable for families. It is not particularly difficult and offers a bucolic stroll after visiting the villages. Much of the walk is shaded.

Description of the walk

The walk starts from the "Stradone di a Furesta" (forest road), opposite the statue of Our Lady of Boulogne, and "di a casa di i pruduttori" (producers' house). You can park along the road, taking care not to obstruct traffic.

(S/E) Take the lane that goes up towards the statue of Our Lady

(1) Take the lane that goes up to the left and leads to a staircase. Return to the tarmac and continue straight ahead.

(2) Continue straight ahead and leave the path on the left.

(3) Take the smaller path on the left. Pass the Vitulo ravine and follow a few hairpin bends before arriving at a straighter section leading to a fork.

(4) Follow the path on the right, ignoring the one on the left. Do the same a hundred metres further on and you will arrive at the D963.

(5) Cross carefully and look for the continuation of the path that runs below the departmental road. You will rejoin the road.

(6) Cross it again carefully and find the path on the hill opposite. Join the district road again.

(7) Ignore it and continue straight ahead until you reach a three-way junction at the entrance to Lecciole.

(8) Keep left. Continue straight ahead at the next junction, ignoring the lane on the left that leads back to the district road.

(1) Continue straight ahead to return to the statue of Our Lady and the car park (S/E).

There are also fountains in the villages.

Worth a visit

Opposite the departure point, you will find a "producers' house" which is not open every day: call the town hall for more information.

The villages of Olmi and Capella are also worth visiting, withSaint Nicholas Church and the Brotherhood of Saint Anthony.

A pleasant walk with some lovely views. At point no. 4, take care: the path isn’t signposted, and there’s a cross on a low wall that might wrongly suggest you shouldn’t go that way. The path goes downhill and is a bit more uneven.
The area is lovely and you can extend your stay by stopping off at the forest lodge in the Tartagine Forest.
