Description of the walk

S Departure from the car park near Saint Médard Church in Wijtschate via the Wulvergem countryside

(1) Pass by the British military post erected by the 4th Australian Pioneer Battalion in March 1918 and April 1918. During the German spring offensive, the construction fell into German hands.

(2) Pass by several mine craters from the 1914-1918 war

(3) Passing by the British military cemetery R.E. Farm Cemetery

(4) passing near the Pool of Peace crater: Spanbroekmolenkrater and the British military cemetery Lorie Tree Cemetery

(5) passing near the British military cemetery Irish House CWGC Cemetery

(6) Passing in front of the farm behind which lies the Maedelstede Farm Krater, a huge crater from the First World War, formed by the explosion of a British mine on 2 June 1917

(7) passing another crater formed by the explosion of a British mine

(8) German counter-mine Shat Dietrich: in the Kampagnebos woods, we pass by a German army counter-mine shaft to listen to the enemy's work as they build an underground tunnel
