Start: Start from the car park next to the "Assiette au Boeuf" restaurant on the corner of Avenue de Flandre and the D144.
(S/E) Leave the car park and thread your way behind the GR® marker to reach a large wooded path. Go straight ahead, heading East-South-East, on this path for 200m. Continue along the same path for 300m. You are now in Warwanne Wood (which can be mushroomy). Leave the track on your right and continue straight ahead.
(1) Take the path along the left bank of the Marque. Admire the Château de la Fontaine on the other bank. Continue along the path, which makes a wide semicircle for about 300m, and you'll come to a gate which, when ajar, allows pedestrians to enter and leave the wood.
(2) At the end of the wood, turn left in a northeasterly direction onto the tarmac track that crosses the bridge over the Marque and zigzags up to the east gate of Château de la Fontaine.
(3) Admire the lions and the view onto the château, then retrace your steps.
(2) Don't go into the woods (note the sign authorizing pedestrian traffic). Continue straight ahead on the "Rouge de Fontaine" path, heading south-west. Turn right between the houses onto a road that leads to Rue de la Fontaine. Immediately turn right onto Rue Hoche, which is more of a footpath.
(4) Turn right into Rue du Recueil, then right again into Chemin des Cottages, which becomes Avenue des Cottages. Turn right into Rue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny and find the car park at the end of this street (S/E).
