Trou du Loup and Ravin de Bernadine, with return via La Bosse

An easy loop starting from Corbières, with the Torrent de Corbières gorges and the Trou du Loup. The start of the walk offers a glimpse of the gorge on a gently ascending path, with very cool spots and a wide variety of flora. The Ravin de Bernadine has the same atmosphere but with a torrent that is often dry. The climb to La Bosse and the descent on the way back take you through scrubland typical of the Luberon. A pleasant way to discover the hills and scrubland of the Luberon.

Description of the walk

Park in the car park of the Salle Municipale, located on Chemin des Alpes.

(S/E) Return to Route de Manosque and turn right onto Rue des Écoles.

(1) Turn right onto Rue Arnaud, cross Place Haute, then turn left onto Montée des Beaumes to leave the village and enter the Torrent de Corbières valley.

(2) At the three-way junction, keep left and continue to a crossroads directly below the power line.

(3) Continue right along the vineyard, turn left onto a path below that climbs up the slope, then follow the contour lines. An old water pipe can be seen from a distance, as well as the concrete boxes marking the sections. The path climbs up the gorge, staying above the torrent on the left bank.

(4) Enjoy the pleasant view of the stream and continue to the small Trou du Loup dam, which offers a cool spot to rest.

(5) Stay on the left bank, follow the water reservoir, then follow the stream before crossing over some rocky slabs and passing onto the right bank. Follow the trail into the Ravin de Bernadine and reach a track suitable for vehicles.

(6) Cross the dry stream, take the track on the left, then find a well-marked path on the right that climbs straight up the slope.

(7) Turn right, leaving the path that goes straight downhill. Follow a faint trail that heads for the top of the ridge and joins a very well-marked, wide path. Turn left and follow this path gently uphill to a track.

(8) Head right to follow it.

(9) Take the second path on the left, which is almost passable at first, then narrows but remains easy to follow until the highest point at La Bosse.

(10) Follow the path, which is less clearly marked, but descends straight down the slope before reaching a new track. Take it to the right until you reach the signpost indicating the return to Corbières.

(11) Descend to the left on the path along the ridge, cross a second pylon and then a third smaller one. You will reach a fork.

(12) Take the track on the right, which extends the return journey slightly. This will take you to a track suitable for vehicles.

(13) Turn left, walk alongside a vineyard just before crossing the Torrent de Corbières ford to enter the village via Rue du Pas de Beaumont. Turn right onto Rue des Gabians.

(1) Continue straight ahead, then turn left to return to the car park at the Salle Municipale (S/E).

Notes

The two fords are easy to cross, but I did so on a dry day. In my opinion, it's best to avoid going there just after a storm!

Hello.
There is a clear lack of detail and clarity in the route description and directions.
Part of the journey was done blindly, with no landmarks and no idea where we were going.
The description of the route could be improved, particularly in the second part.
That said, the first part of the hike is really very pleasant.
