The Champs Captants

Reserved for walkers and cyclists, this easy loop in a calm setting will allow you to explore the Sens vine conservatory comprising more than 600 plants of 30 grape different varieties, before returning via the banks of the Yonne. Along the way, you’ll also find a sports circuit with gym apparatus, and a golf driving range.

Description of the walk

The starting point is the Champs Captants car park, from the information panel.

(S/E) With your back to the car park, take the white gravelled track. Pass in front of the Sens Conservatoire des Cépages (vine conservatory).

(1) Continue, turning slightly to the right along the golf driving range. At the end of the road, turn right, taking the Chemin des Pêcheurs to get to the banks of the Yonne river.

(2) Facing the Yonne, take the tow path on the right. Continue straight ahead for around 2km, following the river on one side and the poplars on the other.

(3) Several dozen metres after passing the Saint-Bond lock n°9, turn right to go back to the Champs Captants car park (S/E).
