Park your car at Winchcombe Long Stay Car Park.
(S/E) From the car park, descend Cowl Lane until you join High Street in front of Winchcombe Methodist Church. Turn right, go past Abbey Terrace and bear left in Vineyard Street. At the fork, go straight going past Castle gatehouse and continue the road which leads the bridge crossing Beesmoor Brook.
(1) Before the road bends left, turn right to the public footpath (yellow arrow) across the grassland. Then, walk the open meadow with nice views to Sudeley Castle before you go slightly right towards the "Windrush Way" sign. You finally reach a gate (the path can be very wet and muddy!).
(2) Go through this gate, turn right on the track a few metres and turn left to "Windrush Way" before you reach the road. Walk along Beesmoor Brook before you go across open meadows for half a mile. Continue along the edge of the woods, go through two stiles and bear left when you reach "Windrush Way" signpost.
(3) Follow the track which bends left for 500 metres and turn left past the farm.
(4) Go through the stile and continue across the field next to the power line until you reach a gate. Then, follow the track a few metres but turn left ignoring the track which goes up in front of you.
(5) Enter the field and ascend immediately on your right. Then, enter an open meadow and continue up along the fence. Look at the beautiful view next to the low wall before you go across the woods.
(6) Past the wood, leave grassy the track which goes along the low wall in front of you but turn slightly to the other track (signpost far away) which leads to the road.
(7) Go straight ahead "Public Bridleway Warden'Way" (private driveway on the left) walking this road for half a mile.
(8) When you see the public footpath on the right, leave the bridleway. Walk the right edge of the field before the path bends left and enters the woods (use the stile and the gate with a yellow arrow). Enjoy this nice section next to beech trees with great views of the countryside.
(9) Then, descend the road until you reach Sudeley Hill Farm. Take the kissing-gate on the right and go across the meadow until you join a track. Follow the track on the left, you can glance at St Kenelm's Well, a 19th-century building before you go up across the next open meadow.
(10) At the top of the hill, continue straight the track along the low wall for 300 metres. Turn left when you reach the track. Follow straight this way for almost half a mile. Go slightly down the grassy way on the right next to Salter's Hill (263m).
(11) Enjoy the 180° view with Winchcombe on the left and Toddington Valley in front of you! Then, take "Gloucestershire Way" which descends on the left and enters the muddy path in the woods.
(12) Past the woods, head to the small gate on the right (ignore the large one on the left). Cross over Stancombe Lane, go through the kissing gate leading to the public footpath with a yellow arrow. Go past wonderful dead trees when you enter the meadow. At the end of the path in meadows, take Rushley Lane on the left for a few metres and bear right to "Public footpath, Gloucestershire Way". You finally reach Castle Street. Ascend the street on the right which leads to crossroads with High Street and White Hart Inn. Turn left a few metres before you turn right Cowl Lane leading to the car park.(S/E)
