Description of the walk

(S/E) Leave Oxford Hill and turn into Stanton Harcourt Road.

(1) Cross the road bridge over the A40 and continue along the single-track road.

(2) Pass over the bridge of the disused railway line.

(3) Keep going with the Wildlife sanctuary on your left.

(4) At the far end of the lake, turn left through the gate, footpath sign to South Leigh. Follow the footpath.

(5) On entering South Leigh, turn left onto the road. You'll pass in front of The Masons Arms, public house, on your left.

(6) Turn left toward Winey and follow Chapel Road.

(7) Pass under the A40 and you'll be back to Oxford Hill.(S/E)

For me, the only interesting part is between points 3 and 4: 10 minutes by the ponds.
Before that, it's a road, then a path that runs alongside what looks like a quarry with large machines and big piles of sand. Between points 4 and 6, there's an unmaintained path in the middle of nowhere, then along the edge of fields, where you have to watch your step because the ground is very uneven. After that, it's a small road, then a main road.
