The route begins with a mostly downhill section to the lowest point, before starting a gradual climb towards the higher ground and the village at the end of the walk. The difficulty is moderate for an experienced walker, but the summer heat can make the second half more challenging. It is advisable to set off early, take plenty of water and download the route map for offline use. As this is not a circular route, the return journey from Miranda del Castañar must be arranged in advance.
