Worth a visit

The circular walking trail, which begins a few hundred metres from the car park, features four viewing platforms, offering visitors the chance to observe the rich biodiversity of this nature reserve – covering just under 300 hectares – at their leisure.

The circular trail passes eleven information stations run by the Thuringia Nature Conservation Foundation in the Dankmarshäuser Rhäden area, which are dedicated not only to waterbirds but also, amongst other things, to extensive grazing, fruit trees and beavers.
In Wildeck-Obersuhl, on the grounds of the Blumenstein School at Rhädenweg 13, there is an information centre which, through various exhibitions, provides information about the valuable habitats in the middle Werra Valley. The Wildeck Nature Conservation and Ornithology Group (e.V.) runs the centre and opens it on request.
