This circular walk offers some great views around Rossen Clough.

(D/A) Take the footpath off Hollin Road to Rossen Clough past Redwood Farm and then on towards Higher Pethills Farm. This part of the walk is very muddy in places in winter and quite difficult to navigate.
(1) Continue on from Higher Pethills Farm until reaching a path on the right hand side before Brooms and follow the path to the A54 and turn right.
(2) Follow the A54 for a short while and then turn right along the Gritstone Trail towards the radio transmitter. Continue on towards the Hill of Rossenclowes and then to Foxbank Farm and down to Hollin Road.
(3) Turn right at Hollin Road and back to the start of the walk.(D/A)

The Gritstone Trail runs for 56 km through the Cheshire countryside, west of the Peak District, from Disley to Kidsgrove. This second stage picks up the trail at Langley, having left Macclesfield and taken the towpath along the Macclesfield Canal to Sutton Hall. From Langley, the route weaves its way over Croker Hill and Wincle Minn, joins the Dale Valley Way and climbs up to The Cloud (343m) before coming off the trail to Congleton.
