Start at the Dolmen de la Pierre Levée.
(S/E) Turn left onto Rue de la Pierre Levée, right onto Rue du Père de la Croix and left again onto the same street. Turn left onto Rue du Petit Polygone (going round the gendarmerie), then right onto Boulevard du Colonel Barthal (Notre-Dame-des-Dunes, view of Poitiers).
(1) Turn left onto Boulevard Coligny (steep descent), then right onto Rue du Faubourg du Pont Neuf.
(2) Cross the bridge.
(3) Turn right onto Boulevard Pont Joubert, which becomes Boulevard Bajon and then Boulevard Maréchal Delattre de Tassigny. Pass under the motorway.
(4) Turn left in front of the Jardin des Plantes, going uphill (+50m) along Rue du Jardin des Plantes. At the roundabout, go straight on along Voie André Malraux until you reach Place Charles de Gaulle. Turn right onto Rue de l’Université, then left to go round the square (church on the left), then right onto Rue de la Regratterie.
(5) Turn left onto Rue du Palais, cross Place Alphonse Lepetit, then go straight on along Rue Gambetta. Turn right onto Rue Édouard Grimaud, left onto Rue de la Marne, and take the third right onto Rue Théophastre Renaudot.
(6) Turn right onto Rue Saint-Hilaire, then carry on onto Rue du Cuvier. Turn left onto Boulevard de Pont Achard (a slight incline).
(7) Turn left onto Boulevard Sous Blossac (go round Blossac), then continue along Boulevard Tison, Boulevard François Albert and Boulevard Anatole France until you reach the Pont Neuf.
