Scrubland and forests from the Falaise de Lioux to the Col de la Ligne.

This circular route allows you to discover many picturesque landscapes such as the Falaise de la Madeleine in Lioux and the Combe de la Sigalière, as well as the Col de la Ligne, offering a view of Mont Ventoux. The route consists mainly of small, isolated and very quiet roads winding between scrubland and forests.

Description of the route

Start at the crossroads at La Combe, near the fountain and war memorial. There is a car park a few metres after the crossroads on theD60A.

(S/E) Head towards Lioux, taking the road that climbs up towards the cliff to the village of Lioux.

(1) Continue on the same road until it joins theD60A after a steep descent.

(2) Turn right and climb up to the junction at the top of the small pass.

(3) Continue straight ahead to descend towards the next junction near a long house.

(4) Take the D943 uphill to the left and join the Combe de la Sigalière with its magnificent viewpoint.

(5) Continue to the entrance of the wooded area, until you reach the crossroads with a tree in the centre.

(6) Turn left and, after a hairpin bend and a flat section in the forest, you will arrive at the crossroads in a small clearing.

(7) Turn right and continue along this road for about 5 km. After two hairpin bends and a short descent, go down the other side to the D15.

(8) Climb up to the left (remember to turn around to look at Mont Ventoux) and reach the Col de la Ligne.

(9) Continue down the long descent and pass the hamlet of Les Sautarels (on your left) before crossing the hamlet of Les Beylons, at the end of which you will find a four-way crossroads.

(10) Turn left onto Chemin de Bezaure and continue along this rough road. Cross the small plateau where there is a farm, passing between the two basins.

(11) Continue downhill to the junction for access to Le Parrotier.

(12) Continue left, cross a large hamlet, staying on this road until you reach the crossroads at La Combe, near the fountain and war memorial (S/E).

Notes

The route is very isolated, so be sure to take enough water and food with you (there are no water sources). Be aware of the weather: in summer, the sun is very strong and there may also be a risk of fire. Parking is located a few metres after the Combe crossroads behind the house on theD60A.
