"Maison du pays bigouden", at the roundabout at the entrance of Pont-l'Abbé, when you come from Quimper.
VTT3 and Yellow markings.
(S/E) From the car park, use the pedestrian crossing to bypass the traffic circle and head towards the west ring road (D785). Be careful, walk carefully on the grassy strip.
(1) Turn right onto the first path (2 letterboxes). Follow this path through a pine woodland. Pass a small rustic wash-house on your left and continue until you meet the old "Transbigouden" GR®34H railroad line.
(2) Turn right on this greenway (signposted Quimper 17km) for a few hundred metres, then at the signpost "Circuit de l'étang du Moulin Neuf", leave it to turn left and take the parallel path which goes back behind a house. Follow the Yellow markings. The path skirts a vast meadow on the right, then turns left to reach a road.
Off road
Turn right and follow this small road. Ignore two roads leading to farms on your left. Pass a rustic cross on your right. At the next crossroads, continue straight on towards "Plonéour-Lanvern", leaving behind the signposted route to Tréméoc town.
(3) Turn left then right to reach the entrance to the manor "Manoir de Lestrémec". This manor is privately owned, but if the owners are around, they'll be happy to show you around.
Retrace your steps, cross the small wooded area and join the yellow-marked path again close to the road.
Yellow Marking
Follow it to the right to reach the windmill "Moulin Neuf lake". Cross a small parking area, then turn left to walk along the water's edge towards the dam.
(4) When you see the dam, leave the edge of the pond and turn left to reach a staircase. Climb up, leaving the path on the left, and continue on to a footbridge that leads around the dam.
Follow the pathway, which is currently being restored to its natural course (October 2020).
Unmarked
(5) At the end of this footbridge, turn left, leaving on your right the signposted path that continues around the pond. Follow a path that skirts the swampy area you've crossed. Opposite a meadow, turn right up a sunken track which leads to a road at a place called Coatellen.
Turn left to enjoy the bucolic setting of the chapel "Chapelle Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle" (Kelou Mad in Breton dialect).
(6) Go back to the road. Take the first street on the left that goes around the Ty Coat housing estate, and continue along this road back to the one you left.
Turn left to go over the bypass and take the first path on the left, which goes behind some houses and joins the road "Route Saint-Julien". Follow this road down to a small roundabout.
Yellow Marking
(7) Turn left to take the green path, which runs alongside the stream coming from the dam. Continue until you reach a marker at a staircase.
(8) Go up and turn right. Continue along this path, which runs below the Pont-L'Abbé water tower. Look out for an old wash-house and fountain on your right. This leads to the street "Rue Ster Vad", which you follow until you reach the street "Rue Pen Enez".
(9) Turn right, then left into the street "Rue de Menez", which goes uphill. The street continues along a wide tree-lined path. Ignore the pedestrian and bicycle access to the water park on your right. Continue along a property on your right.
Exit onto the D785 road opposite (1). Turn right to reach the car park. Be careful when driving along this road.(S/E)
