Once you reach the end of the road leading to the hamlet of Le Bouchet, follow the road to the left, which leads to the last house, and park on the hard shoulder.
(S/E) Walk to the last house and take the path on the right, signposted for mountain biking, which climbs through the meadows. The path passes close to a small house and enters the woods. It is joined on the left by theGR® 40.
(1) Carry on straight ahead along theGR®. At the junction, continue straight ahead; the return route will be via the path that climbs up to the right. Reach and cross a wide track.
Here, join a path signposted ‘Route Géosite’ on wooden posts.
(2) Leave theGR® and turn right onto this path; follow it until you reach the edge of a quarry and walk alongside it until you reach the entrance.
(3) The Géosite route takes the access track to this quarry on the right.
Continue straight on, climbing slightly through the woods. After a gentle climb, take the path on the right, at the edge of the forest, which leads downhill.
This will take you to a wide track, which you should follow to the right.
As it bends to the right and reaches the quarry entrance, look out for the ‘Route Géosite’ signpost indicating you should turn left.
(4) Follow the signposts; please note that on one section here, the path is not shown on maps. Carry on and, at each junction, keep to the right. Walk straight up the slope for about a hundred metres to reach a wide path.
(5) Turn left downhill and join a wide track suitable for vehicles.
(6) You’ll see an open area opposite. Head towards it and take the grassy path on the right that leads downhill.
At the bottom of the descent, rejoin the path you took on the way there: theGR® 40.
(1) Turn left onto the wide path, ignoring theGR® markings which lead into a clearing where the path becomes impassable. Continue to the end of the clearing, where you’ll find a small path leading uphill through the woods on your left.
Follow this path for a few metres until you reach the signpostedGR® path. Turn right onto it.
Descend steadily, following the markings, until you reach a three-way junction.
(7) Leave theGR® and take the right-hand branch. Walk past some old orchards and, after a few hundred metres, you’ll reach a track running at right angles.
(8) Turn right and follow this track to the hamlet of Le Bouchet (S/E).
