Departure from the Boulevard Koenig car park
(S/E) From the car park, cross the footbridge over the Orne, take Rue de l'Arquette, then turn left onto Venelle de l'Orne. The alley turns right and joins Rue de l'Arquette. Continue left and at the fork, turn right onto Rue Montaigu.
(1) Turn right and take the footbridge over the railway line. Head left at the top of the footbridge. Walk past the church of Vaucelles on the right and go down the steps of Venelle Saint-Anne. Cross Rue de Falaise and take Venelle aux Champs, which is slightly to the left. Follow it and enter Parc de la Venelle aux Champs. Cross the park.
(2) Enter the Saint-Jean Cemetery. Exit the cemetery via Rue Canchy (to the left). Go down the steps of the old cemetery opposite, slightly to the right.
(3) Go under the railway tracks via Rue de la Gare, take the first right, then cross the large square in front of the Rives de l'Orne shopping centre and head for the quays. Follow them to the right.
(4) Cross the Orne River on the Pont Alexandre Stirn bridge. Follow the quays of the port of Caen, located at the end of the Canal de Caen à la Mer. Cross the car park and climb the stairs of the Venelle Maillard. At the top, turn left onto Rue du Vaugueux. Follow it up to Rue de la Pigaciére, then take Rue du Doyen Moriére opposite on the right, which will take you to Saint-Pierre Cemetery.
(5) When you leave Saint-Pierre Cemetery, go straight ahead, cross Rue de la Delivrande, follow it to the left for a few metres to reach Rue de l'Aurore. Follow it to the University of Caen.
(6) Cross the large esplanade and exit via the library. Turn left onto Rue du Magasin à Poudre and you will soon find the entrance to the Protestant Cemetery.
(7) Go down Rue du Magasin à Poudre, then turn right onto Rue du Gaillon. At the bottom, take Rue aux Juifs opposite, then turn left onto Rue Desmoueux, where you will find the entrance to the Quatre-Nations Cemetery.
(8) Continue along Rue Desmoueux and turn right onto Rue du Docteur Rayer. Continue along Rue Barbey D'Aurevilly and Rue Saint-Nicolas, which leads to the church and cemetery of the same name.
(9) When you leave the cemetery, continue along Rue Saint-Nicolas on the left, then turn right onto Venelle Saint-Nicolas. At the bottom, turn left, then right onto Rue Caponnière, which you follow until you reach Rue Pierre Chaunu, where you turn left. Then take Allée Pére Jamet, pass in front of the beautiful façade of the former Jeanne d'Arc secondary school and turn your back on it to leave the housing estate at Saint-Ouen Church and its cemetery (the6th dormant of Caen).
(10) Continue left on Rue Saint-Ouen until Boulevard Yves Guillou. Follow the fence of Lycée Malherbe on your left. Cross the boulevards at the first traffic lights and take the stairs to Chemin de Ceinture de la Prairie. Turn left and after 150 metres, turn right onto the bridge and follow the path back to the car park (S/E).
