Park at the hamlet of Les Chazes.
(S/E) With your back to the hamlet, take the path that passes to the left of the stone cross. As you walk past the houses, follow the path on the left and do the same at the next junction. There is a slight climb, but it is not particularly difficult.
(1) At this fork, take the path on the left: the one on the right (in front of you, not the one heading back the other way) joins the one on the left a little further on. So there’s no chance of getting it wrong. You’ll reach another fork
(2) Follow the path on the right, the one that continues straight on to reach a small plateau: watch out for puddles after heavy rain.
(3) Turn left to complete a circular route, then head straight on, keeping a south-westerly direction. Pass under a power line and reach a fork.
(4) Follow the path straight ahead, marked with the yellow/white hiking trail markings.
Go through the yellow gate to continue along the path: you can also follow the sign for “Chapelle par le sentier”, which will also take you to the Chapel of Saint-Cérice, a tiny chapel but usually hosting an exhibition (when we visited, there were wooden statuettes on display).
From there, follow the path which turns into a road after the white gate. Turn right at this point, leaving the quarry on your left. Go straight on, ignoring two turnings on the right.
(5) Leave the road and take the path on the left marked by the sign “Croix Saint-Cerice”: you’ll find the cross just a little further on your left.
(6) Take the path on the right; the one straight ahead eventually disappears. Stay on the main path and you’ll come out onto another cross-path.
(7) Turn right and head back to the small car park where you started (S/E).
