The starting point is at the northern exit of Vesseaux, at the old cooperative winery, which has been converted into a wine cellar. Parking is available in front of or behind the building.
(S/E) Head east, leaving the road leading to the hamlet of Le Planet on your left. Immediately afterwards, turn right and head towards a motocross track climbing very steeply up the marl slopes. Go around this climb on the left and continue to a flat area above the marl.
(1) Leave the path climbing towards the Croix de Mousson opposite you and turn right onto the flat path until you reach a dirt road.
(2) Take this road on the left and climb up to the first hairpin bend.
(3) At the bend, leave the road on the right and take a path that climbs very steeply up the embankment, then turns right and climbs more steadily.
Rejoin the road and finish the climb to the Col de la Croix de l'Houme.
(4) Turn left, then take two right turns.
At the next junction, leave the white-yellow markings that go off to the left and continue straight ahead until you reach a large bend to the left.
(5) Turn left, leaving a track on your right, then, towards the end of the track, take a path on the right that descends towards the Ruisseau de Chante-Perdrix.
Cross the stream (always dry) and climb up the other side. Turn right onto a well-maintained path.
Leave a path climbing up to the left and continue on the ledge path for about 1.5 km until you find a path marked in white and yellow.
(6) Take this path on the right and descend to the bottom of the ravine. Cross and climb up the other side.
At the first hairpin bend to the right, ignore a path on the left.
(7) Just after the second hairpin bend to the right, leave the marked trail and take a horizontal path to the left. Please note that the IGN map is not very accurate for this section and the rest of the route, so it is best to refer to OpenStreetMap.
(8) At the first crossroads, take the path on the left. After going around a rocky outcrop, this path leads to the bottom of the ravine at the confluence of the Ruisseau de Louyre stream opposite and the Ruisseau de l'Eyrolle stream on the right.
(9) Walk up the Eyrolle stream for about twenty metres to see the Évent des Grenouillettes resurgence in its rock cirque. Then retrace your steps back to the confluence.
Go around a large tree just at the confluence and head north on a barely visible path overlooking the upper part of the Louyre stream on the right bank. Do not be tempted by the faint paths to the right or left. The path marked on the IGN map no longer exists, so use OpenStreetMap instead. Climb up to a small grassy plateau above a dry stone wall, where you will find a well-marked path.
(10) Turn left onto this path, which widens into a farm track after the first small valley.
(11) After a second valley, take a path ascending to the right. Leave a track on the left and continue to the next junction.
(12) Turn right onto a path marked in white and yellow, ignore a path on the left and continue to a three-way junction.
(13) Leave the marked path that climbs to the left and go around the hill to the right. Join the marked path again on the ridge a little further on.
At the entrance to the second small wood, do not take the track on the left indicated on the IGN map, as it is too steep and very unpleasant. Continue along the ridge until you reach a crossroads with four paths.
(14) Turn left back towards the La Chéoune post and continue through the national forest.
(15) After leaving the woods, at a hairpin bend, leave the marked trail and continue straight ahead on a path following the ridge. Descend between two rows of faysses to a path.
Turn right and you will reach a large crossroads.
Turn left, pass between two vineyards and then in front of the waste collection centre to reach the car park (S/E).
