The Blue Path of Moye

Half-day family hike from the village of Moye. The climb at the start offers views of the Rumilly plain and the Haut-Savoyard foothills. The second part of the circuit takes you through the various hamlets of Moye, not forgetting the little extras: the small waterfall and the bridge over the Rivière du Parmand.

Description of the walk

Park in the car park near the town hall. The path called "Le chemin bleu" is marked by blue signs on a yellow background.

(S/E) Follow the road towards Rumilly. 50 m after the car park, take the tarmac road on the left, pass the cemetery and continue to the hamlet of Les Mollards.

(1) Continue to the end of the tarmac road. At the Croix de Saint-Gras, the tarmac gives way to a forest track leading to the hamlet of La Boulaz.

(2) Turn left, follow the road, turn right at the T-junction and continue to the hamlet of Liennet.

(3) Turn left and after 100 m leave the tarmac road for a forest track that descends towards the Parmand river.

(4) Cross the D317 with caution to follow the path opposite, then, a little higher up, cross the Col du Clergeon road (D231), again with caution, and follow the path to the hamlet of Borcherens.

(5) Turn left towards the south onto the forest path that descends to the hamlet of Terrinaz.

(6) Turn left onto Impasse des Cornillons, then cross Route de Parmand. Continue along the street opposite for a few metres, then turn right onto the forest path leading to the Parmand River.

(7) A sign indicates a waterfall. Turn right to admire this small waterfall with the pretty Parmand bridge. Retrace your steps.

(7) Take the original path on the right. The path leads to Chemin des Plats. Follow it to the right along a section of paved road.

(8) Turn left onto a steep path that leads to the Clergeon road (D231) below the church. After 200 m on the Clergeon road towards the church, turn right and head for the town hall esplanade. Turn left into the car park (S/E).

A very pleasant route without too many hills, with a few fords. Perhaps best avoided in wet weather.

A pleasant short hike, partly under trees, which is welcome in hot weather.
The route takes 1 hour and 15 minutes at a brisk walking pace.

A very pleasant, shaded path that offers almost constant views of the beautiful, typical landscapes of the region.
I walked it with a 9-month-old baby (in a baby carrier) without any difficulty (but a pushchair would not be suitable).
Very passable despite the heavy rain in the previous days.
Thank you for this very pleasant walk, which is not particularly difficult but still provides a little exercise to warm up the legs.
