Park in the car park opposite the school in Choisy-au-Bac.
(S/E) Head south and follow Rue Binder Mestro down towards the Aisne. Take thesecond right, Rue de l'Aisne. At the end, cross the bridge over the river.
(1) At the end of the bridge, turn left onto Chemin du Carandeau and follow the river on your left. Pass the Carendeau lock and continue along the river to Pont du Francport. At the foot of the bridge, turn right to join the D546.
(2) Follow the road to the right. At the crossroads, turn left to quickly reach the Rond-Point de l'Armistice roundabout.
(3) Retrace your steps to the Pont du Francport bridge.
(2) Take the path on the right that leads to the banks of the Aisne (do not cross the bridge). Walk along the river on your left and, at a fork, turn left to stay as close as possible to the river. Continue along this path until you reach the Rethondes bridge.
(4) Cross the bridge to reach the other side. Continue straight ahead along Rue du Maréchal Foch. Then turn right onto Rue Paul Arnoult and walk past the church.
(5) Cross the D81 and follow the D547 towards Saint-Léger-aux-Bois. Pass in front of the school and, at the cross, turn left. Continue straight ahead (north) along a small road.
(6) At the edge of the forest, when the road turns left, continue straight ahead to enter the forest. Follow the main path, which soon turns right. About 400 m after the edge of the forest, you will reach a fork.
(7) Turn left and continue north. Cross a forest road and climb up into a pine plantation.
(8) At the crossroads at the top of the hill, turn left to descend. Cross a road and continue on the road opposite. Pass the Grès fish farm forest house and continue straight ahead.
(9) At the Mont l'Écange crossroads, leave the road, take thethird path on the right and follow theGR®12A(red and white markings). At the Carrefour des Bonshommes crossroads, take thesecond path on the left, still following theGR®, and continue straight ahead to the Maison Forestière du Francport.
(10) Follow the road to the left and, at the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue Victor Hugo to enjoy a view of the Château du Francport (a private château that is not open to visitors). Retrace your steps back to the forest house.
(10) Continue north-west on Route du Mont Renard. When the road turns right after about 200 metres, take a path on the left. Continue straight ahead along the path that winds through the forest, heading generally west, and cross several perpendicular paths.
(11) At the crossroads, turn right (west-northwest) and head towards the Chapelle des Trois Chênes chapel.
(12) Then take the path that descends to the left. Pass at the foot of an antenna and continue straight ahead. You will arrive at Rue Raymond Poincaré and follow it to the left to quickly return to the starting point (S/E).
