The walk starts from the village of Parada. Walk through the village (along the cobbled streets) and park by the playground, near the mural (pictured).
(S/E) Take the path on the right and turn left onto the descending path.
(1) Once you’ve started the descent, take the path on the left at the junction and continue down to the left of the stream, which you can just make out.
(2) Carry on straight ahead at the junction. You will then pass through olive groves. You will soon begin to see Lac do Sabor. Follow the road (on a separate path) and then pass under the road viaduct. You will arrive almost at lake level. Then head back up the tarmac track to join the cobbled path leading down to the sanctuary.
(3) Follow it to the left.
(4) Take the road on the right at the Fork in the road, then the one on the left to go round the small hill and see the lake.
(5) Reach the sanctuary and Miradouro de Santa Antao da Barca, then turn back towards the tarmac track.
(3) Continue straight on along the paved track which runs alongside the road and crosses it. Return through the olive and almond groves.
(6) At the junction, leave the main track and take the path on the right to return to the junction you passed on the way there.
(1) Turn left towards the village of Parada (S/E).
