The starting point is behind the Spar in Obertauern. You climb towards Gamsleitenspitze on a gravel road that turns into a path once you reach the ridge. You then follow this ridge, passing several peaks, to Grober Pleiblingkeil, where the descent begins. Be careful, as the start of the descent through the scree requires patience and caution. A walking stick could be useful.
There are a few slightly exposed sections where you will need to use your hands. After Glocnerin, it is possible to shorten the walk and descend immediately to Obertauern if you are tired.
A lovely hike starting from Obertauern. It passes several peaks offering magnificent views of the surrounding area. Named in honour of Flo, the mountain guide who helped me plan it the day before I set off. Don't be fooled by its name, it's still quite intense with a steep gradient and a few exposed sections. It's easy to modify this route to make a circular loop and return to Obertauern.

Notes
There are no real water sources along the entire route. Bring some change so you can have a drink and/or a bite to eat at the refuges at the end of the descent, which are very pleasant and pretty.
