(S) Park in the West Stoke car park and take the gate to the north end of the car park leading to a level track between hedges. This will lead you to the Kingley Vale Nature Reserve.
(1) On entering the reserve, pass the visitor information point on your right, and spend a little time with the ancient yews. Then, continue north to the open space which is a large 'bowl' of chalk escarpment.
Take the path straight ahead to walk into the flat open area near the dew pond.
(2) Bear right to walk up a steep slope through yew trees.
(3) Turn left when you meet the path at the top with excellent views of the surrounding countryside which lead straight ahead to the four tumuli (The Devil's Humps) at the top of the scarp.
(4) When reaching Devil's Hump, take the level top path to the west (left) until you meet an established track.
(5) Turn right (north) and keep the right-hand side until you meet Wildhane lane toward Stoughton.
(6) Turn right - the Hare & Hounds pub (dog friendly) is on the left as you go through the village.
Walk on Wildham lane for about 0.5mile until you find a footpath signpost to the right (east) which picks up Monarch's Way. Take this between fields and past a farm. Carry on straight ahead crossing another footpath (Take a note here).
(7) You can go have a look at the Long barrows at Goosehill Camp straight ahead.
Backtrack to the footpath you crossed (and noted) on the way to Goosehill Camp, and when you meet it turn left (south) to follow this well-defined path to Bow Hill.
(8) Keep on straight to pass Bow Hill and head back to the tumuli (4) but this time stay on the lower narrow path to take you down your left the other side of Kingley Vale Nature Reserve, which will bring you back, on your left again, to the information point. (1) Then it's just the level track back to the car park. (E)
