From Brighstone to Niton

Most of this walk overlooks the sea (Brighstone Bay) and is exhilarating. Don't miss Whale Chine, which reveals a narrow but deep, dark gorge. The end of the walk overlooks St Catherine's Point.

This is the third of a series of 6 walks that will take you around the Isle of Wight from west to east on the Coastal Path.

This walk is part of a multi-day hike: Around the Isle of Wight: Yarmouth to Ryde

Practical information

Good walking shoes, a warm and waterproof jacket, sticks, food and water are recommended. The coastal path is well signposted. However, we recommend that you check your position on the map using the Visorando app. You are encouraged to use the Coastal Path diversions wherever signposted, as parts of the Coastal Path have been eroded and are not accessible.

Most of the walk is on a good track, although occasionally you will walk on a road.

There is a good bus service at all the starting and finishing points.
