The footwear manufacturer Thomas Bata founded Bataville in 1931 (the factory closed in 2001). This is the rather unusual starting point for this route. It is an attraction in its own right. The route also invites us to discover the magnificent Hellocourt estate and Romécourt Castle. The Saulnois is a land of ponds, and our journey also takes in the two superb ponds at Laxière and Le Moulin. We also follow some very beautiful forest paths through the Bois de Chabosses.
