Car park at Place de Verdun near the primary school.
(S/E) From the car park, with your back to the statue, head left towards the church and in the direction of Pont-l’Évêque; take the left-hand pavement to the pedestrian crossing and cross Rue du Paradis (D118). Continue towards Pont-l'Évêque on the right-hand pavement, pass the town hall, then turn right down Chemin du Moulin towards the cemetery. Note that you are now on theGR® 26 and that its signposting will guide you to Lieu Doublet. Pass to the left of the cemetery and continue along Chemin du Moulin for about 150 m until you reach a Fork in the road.
(1) Ignore the Chemin des Ardennes which climbs up to the right; head down to the left and walk alongside the sewage treatment plant. Cross the Douet du Moulin stream via the small stone bridge on the left and follow the Chemin du Moulin back up to a series of junctions. At the first junction, continue almost straight ahead onto the Chemin du Bois Drumard coming from the right. At the next junction, at fire hydrant no. 1, turn right onto the Chemin du Friche Allais until you reach the entrance gate to a private property (La Poulinière at no. 487 on the road).
(2) Turn left onto Chemin du Bois Jourdain Bas, pass by Lieu Leperchey (on the right) and continue uphill for about 500 metres to the crossroads at Bois Jourdain. Note that the path levels out slightly just before the crossroads. Turn right onto the small sunken path and head back up to the crossroads and the road at Lieu Doublet.
(3) At road number 1463, turn right, leaving theGR® 26 here as it continues straight ahead, and follow the Chemin de la Croix Havron for about 500 m until you reach Champ Moreau. Along the way, you will pass fire hydrant no. 2. Leave the Chemin du Friche Alais on your right, then take the bend to the left until you reach a path on the right at roadmark no. 940.
(4) Follow the path on the right running alongside the Bois de la Varenne; at the end, at roadmark 236, turn right onto the Chemin du Costil Porée, then at the Fork in the road continue the descent slightly to the right, following a sunken path.
(5) At the opening, turn left onto Chemin du Bois Drumard, cross the Douet du Moulin stream, then climb (relatively steep gradient) up to a road. At road number 531, carefully cross the Route de Drubec (D 58), continue straight ahead along Chemin de Drumard towards Lieu Poirier and cross Chemin du Calvaire. Continue straight ahead along Chemin du Beau Huet; at Lieu Poirier, ignore Chemin de Glanville on the right and complete the left-hand bend.
(6) At the end of the bend, turn right onto Chemin de Bretocq and follow it for about 300 m until you reach a path on the right.
(7) Before a beautiful half-timbered house (La Cour Bertrand), turn right and go down the sunken path leading to the Fontaine des Guillots (pumping station). Then head back up Chemin des Guillots until you reach the tarmac section just before Route de Villers (D 118). Turn right, pass the wash house and head up Rue Pierre-Simon Laplace towards the village centre. Cross the street to reach Place de Verdun and the car park. (S/E)
