(S/E) Leave the station on the south side, head along the small car park slightly to the left. Follow the pedestrian + stadium sign.
Cross the road, enter the forest, cross the cycle path, and reach the footpath: take it to the left, running parallel to the road.
Just before leaving the woods and crossing a road, first turn left then right onto the footpath. Cross a road: opposite is a bridle path. Move slightly to the left to take the parallel footpath: on the left is the stadium, on the right various buildings which you pass by.
(1) Further on, the path veers left: cross the road, and climb the ramp on the left leading to the bridge over the motorway.
Signposted: “Sentier circulaire de randonnée de la ceinture verte” or“GrünGürtel Wanderweg”(see symbol in the photos): abbreviated to GGW in the rest of the text.
On the other side, walk along the car park on your left. At the end, take the road to the left for 15 m before turning right onto a path through the forest.
(2) 100 m further on, you’ll come to a path: take it to the left. Then, 500 m further on, when you reach a good track: take it to the right. You’ll arrive at a right-angled junction with a good track.
(3) Take the path almost opposite which leads to the Tiroler Weiher. Walk around the pond to admire, amongst other things, several sculptures of the Armadillo, one of which is mounted on the Column of Jupiter. Return to the junction.
(3) Turn left. Cross a track, then a tarmac road.
Leave the GGB
Continue straight ahead. At the next crossroads, take a grass track on the left.
Cross a track at a 45° angle, then 20 m further on take the path on the left which runs along the top of the embankment.
(4) You’ll reach a road: follow it to the right to cross the bridge over the railway line. Immediately after the bridge, cross the road (Caution: no pedestrian crossing) to take a track (marked with a red circle ‘no entry’ sign) that runs alongside the road.
(6) At the first junction with a track at a right angle, take the track on the left. There is a wire fence on the right.
Cross a railway line. 200 m further on, 10 m before crossing a stream, take a footpath then a track on the right.
At the fork, take the path on the left: you’ll reach the Königsbrünnchen, a developed spring whose iron-rich water leaves deposits of a beautiful, vibrant orange colour. It’s the only spring in the forest. The water is said to be drinkable, but has a strong taste...
The spring and the whole area are well equipped for a picnic.
(6) Leave the spring area via the track continuing from the one you arrived on (wooden table and benches just to the left at the start).
At the 45° junction, continue straight ahead. At the next six-way junction, continue more or less straight ahead to follow the lake on your right.
In a bend to the right of this path running alongside the lake, you’ll notice a small clearing on the left with beams on the ground (an obstacle course?).
(7) Enter the clearing, keep the beams on your left, go round the wooden container on the right and take one of the tracks leading into a patch of wild garlic. After 30 m, cross a track; 50 m further on, reach a path and follow it to the left.

At the first junction, take the track on the right. Cross a road via a large covered wooden footbridge
(8) Go through the gate into the wildlife protection area. After 500 m, at the star-shaped junction of tracks, turn slightly right onto the GGW. Cross several tracks and paths, and 800 m further on reach a track marked by white-painted wooden posts.
(9) Take the GGW on the right, passing the Grastränke (“grass trough”: a small pond home to animal species rare to the region): a protected area that is not often accessible.
End of GGW signposting
(10) Before reaching a tarmac road, take the bridle path on the right to run alongside the road on the left-hand side.
Follow this track for just over a kilometre until you reach a junction with a tarmac road. Cross over, take the track slightly to the right and go down the embankment to reach the path that goes round Kesselbruchweiher pond. Follow the path that goes round the pond on the left, pass a small island, then, directly opposite the largest island, you’ll reach a junction of several paths.
(11) Take the path that leads away from Kesselbruchweiher at a right angle to go round the neighbouring pond: the Försterwiesenweiher along its northern shore. Reach a track, take it to the left, then take the first path on the right after crossing the stream. 400 m further on, cross the stream via a culvert, then continue along it, turning left. You will reach the gate marking the boundary of the nature reserve.
(12) Exit, cross the road, enter through a small wooden gate and continue in the same direction to stay on the north bank of the stream (marshy area on the left). 200 m further on, take the path on the left; when you reach a bridge, do not cross it but follow the lake to the left. You will reach the wooden bridge.

(13) Cross the bridge, then take the track on the right to follow the southern bank of Jacobi Pond. Before a bridge, follow the GGW which turns left. Reach a road, cross the railway line (level crossing). Take the path running alongside the road (on your right). Before reaching a major junction, the GGW veers right to follow this new road.
You will reach the railway bridge and the fork you passed on the way there.
Leave the GGW route
(4) As you leave the bridge, take the path shared with the outward route for 150 m to the left.
But then continue straight on along the path at the edge of the embankment for a further 300 m. After passing a track coming in from the right, 50 m further on take the one that branches off at a 45° angle to the right. You’ll reach a tarmac road that turns at a 90° angle.
(14) Follow it to the right. At the first right-angled junction, take the track on the left. Cut across a marked path, then turn right. Pass through a wooden gate to reach a tarmac road.
(15) Cross over, and take the path branching off to the right at a 45° angle.

(2) When you reach the car park seen on the way out, take the path on the left to cross the footbridge over the motorway again. Go down the ramp, cross the road, take the path on the right and return to a fork passed on the way out.
(1) Take the track to the left, then to the right and continue. As you approach the buildings, turn left, then right: the station is opposite, about 600 m away (S/E).
