Description of the walk

Start: Park in the Saint-Michel de Malaucène church car park.

(S/E) Follow the GR®°4, marked in red and white, towards the Dentelles de Montmirail. Pass the Col de Ronin signpost and continue on the GR®. Reach a 4-way crossroads marked by another signpost.

(1) Continue straight ahead to reach the Crête des Gippières, at a place called Clairier.

(2) Continue slightly downhill to reach the Issards signpost.

(3) Take the path to the left and, following an easy descent, skirt the Bois Long buildings before reaching a 4-way crossroads.

(4) Turn left for a quick return trip to the remains of the Aqueduct. Back at the crossroads, continue on the GR® and soon find another 4-way junction. Here, leave the GR® to go straight ahead and climb slightly to reach the Devès car park and the Abbaye Sainte-Madeleine.

(5) Continue slightly downhill to rejoin the GRP® des Dentelles de Montmirail at the Les Plantiers signpost.

(6) Head uphill on the GRP® signposted in red and yellow to reach the château in the village of Le Barroux.

(7) Go around it to the south, take the Rue du Jubilé, then right onto the Route de l'Écluse to the D938.

(8)Cross the D938 with prudence to take the bridleway on the right, the Chemin de Saint-Jean, which crosses the D938 twice. Pass the Abbaye Notre-Dame de l'Annonciation. Then reach a crossroads marked by an oratory, and continue to rejoin the D938 at the Saint-Michel signpost.

(9) Turn left, and take the easy descent back to the original crossroads.

(1) Turn right again and head in the opposite direction back to the Saint-Michel church car park (S/E).
