Circuit round the Theil at Clédat

Start : Clédat village

(S/E) From Clédat village, head North out of the village, leaving the church behind you on the right. At the junction, turn right (North-East) and continue for 200m.

(1) At the intersection, take the path right (East) towards the Rock, which affords a fine view over the surrounding forest.

(2) Retrace your steps from the Rock to the intersection (1). Take the little track to the right (North),which joins a wider lane coming in from the left. After a bend to the left and then to the right, you see a pond and pass to the right of it. Cross the dam and follow on round the pond. The track then turns right, away from the pond.

(3) At the next junction, turn onto a narrower track on the left (South), past a patch of cleared forest.

(4) At the next junction, turn left (South) on a minor winding road that leads back to Clédat village (S/E).

Access: The village of Clédat is lost in the depths of the forest and access is by unmetalled roads. From Gransaigne, head north towards Bonnefond. Near La Vialle, the road becomes a long forest track. Clédat is well signposted: follow the signs. Park at the entrance to the village, which you can visit before or after the walk.
